No dejes de sorprenderte

Hay canciones que, por más que las escuches una y otra vez, nunca les prestas suficiente atención. Igual te sabes un poco el estribillo, entiendes una palabra de ahí, otra por allá…

Pero no te paras un momento para saber lo que realmente dicen. Son esas canciones de toda la vida, que escuchas desde niño y que son ya tan familiares que en ningún momento pensaste que la letra podía tratar sobre ese tema.

Esto me ha pasado con una canción de Michael Jackson. ¡Es o no es de toda la vida! “Man in the mirror” tiene más de 25 años y nunca había prestado atención a la letra hasta que me han pasado esta versión.

Pero ya no se trata sólo del mensaje de la canción (si quieres que el mundo cambie empieza por ti mismo), si no el hecho de no apreciar como merecen las cosas, las personas a las que ya estamos acostumbrados. Por alguna razón van perdiendo ese valor que tenían al principio de la relación que establecemos con ellos, dejamos de apreciar lo que antes nos llamaba tanto la atención y considerábamos tan especial. Así pues, os propongo como ejercicio este mes sentaros a reflexionar sobre este tema. Cuántas cosas hemos dejado de valorar por el paso del tiempo. Parejas, amigos, trabajos, coches… Cualquier relación que consideréis importante y creáis que debéis cuidar un poquito más.
